James Ellsmoor
Director and Co-Founder
James is passionate about climate change advocacy and international environmental policy. He speaks Spanish, French and Portuguese and is particularly interested in promoting renewable energy infrastructure systems in rural communities. He understands the need for climate leaders in the international community and works with Solar Head of State to directly aid governments in setting an example by pioneering solar energy projects. James has lived in Chile and Madagascar but grew up in Shropshire, England and is now based in Oakland, California.
Jonelle Jones
SHOS Ambassador
Jonelle hails from Trinidad & Tobago, and is widely experienced in environmental and resource management. She has worked for various large international organizations including UNIDO and the FAO. Jonelle operates her own consultancy business, NRM Solutions, out of Trinidad and is committed to promoting sustainable environmental practices across the Caribbean region.
Andrew Chang
SHOS Ambassador
Andrew brings extensive marketing experience to the Solar Head of State team. Previously, he spent 3+ years at two internationally renown advertising agencies - TBWA China and Y&R Shanghai. He managed accounts with Porsche, Pepsi, Bacardi, Lay’s and Adidas. His most notable achievement was managing and pitching Pantone ‘The Power of Color’ creative that won Bronze at Cannes in 2014.
Haley Nieh
SHOS Ambassador
Haley Nieh is an Advancement Associate at New Energy Nexus, supporting fundraising, events, and curating donor relations for the organization. She holds a double bachelors in Environmental and Political Science from UC Santa Barbara. Upon graduation, she lived in Washington DC coordinating programs at Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project and aiding Congressman Eric Swalwell’s Capitol Hill office. Haley is incredibly excited to be in the clean energy and finance space learning from diverse and innovative individuals.
In her spare time, Haley enjoys surfing, hiking, and horseback riding. She is a PADI certified scuba diver and holds several specialty certifications. Volunteering for reef check introduced her to the beauty of the planet that she hopes to preserve for future generations to enjoy as well.
